The taste profile of the blend is quite unusual and a novelty for a Davidoff cigar: With its flavours of lemon, leather and coffee, the limited edition cigar makes for a perfect introduction to the new cycle. Especially the Dominican San Vicente and the Mexican Negro San Andres filler tobaccos, which are both known to stimulate the areas on the palate responsible for sour and salty sensations, drive the fresh and lemony notes without ever overpowering the palate. The blend is not only unique in taste stimulation, but also in tobacco innovation: This is is only the second time that Davidoff’s Master Blenders have used a Mexican filler tobacco in a cigar, and the first time that they have used a Dominican hybrid seed 98 tobacco from the Martin Garcia terroir, which adds sweet and creamy notes. The wrapper and the binder are both from Ecuador and perfectly balance the flavours.

LANCERO FORMAT

Like the previous 2013 Snake Churchill cigar, the long and slender lancero format pays homage to the shape of a snake. Because of its length, a lancero is considered one of the most elegant cigar formats and perfectly captures the elegance of the Snake’s character. Davidoff’s Master Blenders envisioned the flavours gliding dynamically across the palate, often changing direction, while maintaining Davidoff’s signature balance – a challenge for a complex blend in such limited space, which they carefully mastered. To roll a cigar of this format, the wrapper must be in the best condition and as veinless as possible.

The Year of the Snake Limited Edition 2025 comes in a wooden box of ten, which, like the Snake, is elegant, graceful and serene on the outside, but leaves the excitement inside for those who want to explore. Its captivating design reflects the shared values of the two artists who created it – a unique collaboration and treasure that promises unparalleled elegance and impeccable craftsmanship.

Filled with cigars blended and rolled exclusively for this Masterpiece, the zodiac sign’s power is vividly reflected by Feifei Chen, a Chinese illustrator and translated into a captivating marquetry by the French artist Mariane Léger.

The Snake is believed to have extraordinary abilities: travelling at remarkable speeds, moving effortlessly on both land and water, ascending to the sky, diving into the abyss, and journeying with the wind. In Feifei’s illustration, the giant Snake spirals upwards through the waves, steadfastly guarding the tobacco leaves. This portrayal captures the essence of ancient beliefs and the majestic nature of the Snake as a timeless protector.

To bring the artwork to life on the humidor, Mariane creatively translated Feifei’s illustration into 326 individual pieces of varying shapes, sizes and structures.
