Por Larranaga Galanes

The oldest handmade Habanos brand still making cigars today, Por Larranaga has finally received a fourth vitola in its line up of regular production cigars with the introduction of the Galanes.

The Galanes is offfered in 10 count semi boîte nature (SBN) boxes, and follows the brands flavour profile of sweeter, light to medium strength smokes. The Galanes brings a larger format to the brand and is sure to excite those after a larger ring gauge, at 4 3/4" and a 52 ring gauge.

The Galanes is an enjoyable smoke, easily lasting well over an hour, and smoking well already even without any age. No signs of the cigar's youth were present in the flavours which started out with the traditional Por Larranaga creaminess and woodiness. The draw was easy and the cigar gave off plenty of smoke throughout.

As the cigar progresses a mild pepperiness is added to the cedar wood notes as some of the initial creaminess and sweetness subsides. The flavour intensifies from light to medium, though the strength remains mild. The cigar stood up to a milder black coffee, and would pair well with an Earl Grey Tea, and is easily enjoyed as a more substantial first smoke of the day or beyond.

The Galanes is an excellent addition to the Por Larranaga range and fans of the brand are sure to enjoy it. Comparable in size and strength to the Trinidad Vigia, Punch Punch and the H Upmann Magnum 54 Por Larranaga now has a contribution to the growing number of larger gauge cuban cigars, whilst staying true to the hallmarks of the iconic brand. Ready to be enjoyed now, try the Galanes for yourself in store, or on our site here.
